Term 3 Week 5
Weekly 5 with Leadership
Gullarn ngheeree - Welcome to this beautiful place,
Rhythms and routines, routines and rhythms, and before we know it Friday is upon us once again. Some weeks have a steadier pace than others, fewer deadlines to beckon us, a break from a training afternoon, perhaps even time to allow a daydream, a random thought to ponder before letting it float downstream.
The rhythm of my week has been one of a steady stream of conversations. Monday morning began with fresh conversations with the core P&F group on future opportunities for connections across our St Francis community. The monthly Board meeting on Tuesday evening with members drawn from our school and Parish community shared wisdom, and practical and prayerful support on strategic and operational matters of school life.
Class visits with Mrs Linforth to share in the guided reading programs across our year levels provided opportunities to listen to our students as they described their learning tasks and insights. Important conversations occurred with Mrs Ricciardi and Mrs Ross in discerning the learning environment offered to existing and potential students at St Francis Catholic Primary. My days were also blessed with the confidence and trust of parents, colleagues and students who shared vulnerable moments in their lives; the stories behind the faces of the people I walk with each day.
And always, always in these conversations, I feel the presence of the Holy Spirit, with wings beating a steady rhythm of faith, hope, patience, generosity, wisdom, kindness… and I see it witnessed in the people I meet. We come together, we dream of opportunities, we hold one another in the ‘curveball moments of life’ - every day we strive to ‘journey as family in peace through love’.
Day by day,
As they spent time together in the temple,
They broke bread at home
And ate their food with glad and generous hearts,
Praising God
And having the goodwill of all the people.
And day by day the Lord added to their number
those who were being saved.
(Acts of the Apostles 2:46-47)
God’s blessings upon your weekend,

P & F News
Welcome to Term 3, week 5
We're asking for helpers willing to assist Mark, our school groundsman, to pressure wash the undercover area – a big undertaking that would be made much easier with many hands! He’ll be there from 7:30am this Saturday 10th August if you have a gerni and are able to donate an hour or so. Thank you!
Over the next month or so, our core committee will be working closely with Senior Staff to plan the P&F budget for 2025. We hope to align our initiatives and areas of spending with that of the school goals and in line with parent feedback. Now is the time to let us know via email or by attending the next P&F meeting (see below) to have your say on ways we can best assist and improve our beautiful school.
Another date to mark in your calendars – the next Parents & Friends Group meeting will be held on Tuesday 27th August, 6:30pm - 7:30pm at school. Note this term's meeting will be held in the evening. This is an opportunity to engage with the school community, share ideas and have your say. Hope to see you there!
Remember to save the date for this year’s Family Movie Night - Friday 6th September. Helping out at this event is a great way to get to know other parents, and all assistance helps to make these fun events possible. If you’re able to join in, sign up via the Sign Up Genius or by emailing SFTS_PandFSecretary@rok.catholic.edu.au. We appreciate all support, big or small.
Please remember, you can contact us at any time via the P&F email SFTS_PandFSecretary@rok.catholic.edu.au, the feedback & suggestions box at the school office, or by attending the general meetings.
We appreciate and encourage your thoughts and involvement which nourish the St Francis community.

School Dental Van
We would like to thank St Francis families for being patient while we await the van's official opening date. We are hoping to start offering treatment from Tuesday 13th August 2024.
The dental van is currently offering St Francis School the opportunity for a dental check-up and any follow-up treatment required at no cost to the parent. All school-aged children from 4 years old to Year 10 are eligible for dental treatment through the public service as long as they have a Medicare card. Any children 0-4 years old that receive the Child dental benefits scheme ($1000 from Medicare) are also eligible for a check-up.
If parents have any queries of their child's eligibility to access the service, please come and give us a knock on the door.
