Weekly 5 With Leadership
Gullarn ngheeree - Welcome to this beautiful place,
This week, I share with you our beautiful St Francis prayer, re-imagined a little. May the actions of you and those around you create moments of peace that spread across our great lands.
Lord,
Make us instruments of your love.
May we see each circumstance in our lives
As an opportunity to grow in your love.
May we see our environment and our workplaces
As places to grow in your love.
May we then take this love to other people…
When I am tempted to become impatient,
help me to be patient.
When I am tempted to become unkind,
help me to be kind.
When I am tempted to become jealous,
help me to be tolerant.
When I am tempted to become boastful or proud,
help me give you the glory.
When I am tempted to be rude or selfish,
give me the gift of gentleness.
When I am tempted to take offense,
help me to let go.
When I am tempted to become angry with someone,
give me the gift of forgiveness.
When I am tempted to become resentful,
give me your power to love.
The Celebration Assembly next Wednesday, marks the achievements of learning and growth of our students in 2024. We welcome Mr Stephen Dale, Assistant Director Southern Schools, to address our community at this event. Along with Mr Dale, our Director, Mr Michael McCosker, will be visiting on Thursday 14 November for the afternoon; we look forward to the conversations with staff and students as we share the rich learning opportunities here at St Francs Catholic Primary.
God’s blessings upon your weekend,
PAX et bonum - Peace and all goodness,
Meredith Grove

NAPLAN 2025 Year 3 & 5
Dear Families,
Every year across Australia, students in Years 3, 5, 7 & 9 are required to sit NAPLAN tests. The attachments below provide some information for parents. The four assessments begin on the 12th of March and run for two weeks. If you have concerns about your child sitting NAPLAN testing in 2025, please email me. This public demonstration site allows families to jump online and see what the NAPLAN tests look like, providing practice questions.
Scroll down and Select the year level.
Select the test you would like to practice/view: Reading, Writing, Conventions of Language, or Numeracy.
Select 'standard test' and then 'next', 'next', 'yes' and 'test'.
Swimming Carnival - Wed 20th Nov
Thank you to those who have completed the survey for this term's swimming carnival. Today I printed the current nominations and they are posted outside the school tuckshop.
The forms have been re-opened and will close this Sunday afternoon.
Children who have not been nominated will not be allowed to swim more than 25m.
The Prep to 8-year-old swimmers are in the pool from 9-10 AM. After this, they will do water rotations on the grass and in Splashzone. The bus leaves for the juniors at 12 noon.
A new event added to the program is an under 8's 50m freestyle. This is a nomination only, no points, no ribbons. If your child attends swimming club and is proficient at this distance, please email kylie_linforth@rok.catholic.edu and I will adjust your nomination.

2025 Prep Transition Mornings
A big thank you to those parents who have helped to welcome our Prep families for 2025 so far!
Providing a warm welcome and a cuppa to new families can make a big difference to the transition to school life, and it's lovely that we can help to build our school community right from Prep level.
We have two more Prep Transition Mornings on Tuesday and Thursday next week - reach out to the P&F email if you're able to assist for 30 minutes/one hour from 8:30 am.
Free Sausage Sizzle - Last Day of Term
The P&F will be supporting the excitement of the last day of term by providing a free sausage in bread for students and teaching staff.
This will be occurring at first break.
A big thank you to the parents who have already volunteered to cook this BBQ!

This year’s AGM will be held on Friday 22nd November at 8:30am in the Staffroom.
